Business network CNBC is responding to the real estate crisis by expanding its coverage with a series of daily reports on the real estate market. CNBC, which delivers up to the minute information about financial and business trends, has decided that the current real estate market upheaval requires special attention.
CNBC’s “The Home Front”
“The Home Front” will offer coverage of all issues affecting everyone involved in the real estate market, from home owners, home sellers and home buyers, to home builders and real estate investors. Heading up the reporting team will be Diana Olick, Washington D.C. based correspondent best known for her “Boomer Nation” series about the relationship between business and commerce and the aging baby boomer generation.
The Home Front Team
Jane Wells, a CNBS business reporter whose area of late has been covering technology and defense, will represent the Los Angeles based portion of the Home Front team. Wells has a long history of covering top stories, including the O.J. Simpson case and the Rodney King trial.
Barbara Corcoran, the “Queen of New York Real Estate” and founder of the Corcoran group, will also contribute to the program with real estate advice and commentary.
Real Estate a Top Priority for CNBC
Fluctuations in the real estate market, particularly with regard to defaults on subprime mortgage loans and an overabundance of new home inventory, have been a key factor affecting U.S. markets in the last quarter. It appears this will continue to have heavy influence in the upcoming year. The Home Front will provide real estate investors and other economic analysts the up-to-the-minute information they need to react to changing real estate market trends.
